We all live in a civil society and the bulwark of the civil society is the security that that is provided to us in the society that we live in. It is provided in part by our upbringing, but also in part by the people who defend our society, them being the police and defence forces. Both of them do a stellar duty in defending us from external and internal evil forces. While the police is the force which helps us deal with internal threats, the defence forces (army, navy and air force) deals with the external threat. It is all but natural that people are in awe of both these forces. No one can deny the fact that at some or the other point of time in one's life, we did not have the urge to dress up like a cop or a army person just to get a feel of the pride that goes along with wearing the costume and also to get the kick and feeling of defending the society and country even for few minutes of hours.
Not everyone is allowed;
Sadly one is NOT allowed to wear the army or cop uniform or costume as it is illegal to wear them on the streets. But hey, who stops us from getting into the skin of our favourite character in a themed party. If you are in awe of the policeman (this happens generally if someone in your family is a cop - like your father or mother or an uncle or a distant relative) then there is no reason why you should not wear the cop costume at the next event or theme party that you plan to attend.
