How to really look like a zombie on Halloween

Even with the best zombie costume, you might not look like a zombie if you don’t know how to accessorize your look. The zombie look is one of the hardest costumes to pull off. If you do it right, you will stand out but if you do it wrong, you’ll look like someone with a bad complexion and a lot of eyeliner. Here are some useful tips to make you look like a zombie.

Perfect fake blood

Fake blood should be part of the zombie outfit. Red corn syrup is the best thing. Some people use liquid food colour and the problem with that is that it creates stains. If you visit a bake shop and buy powdered food colour used to make icing, it will be a better bet.

You should combine yellow and red food colour to get great blood for your costumes online. Sometimes, blood will bead up on your skin so you need to add some dish soap to make it even. If you want to get harder then you should consider using green dish soap.

Realistic looking wounds

If you want to achieve realistic-looking wounds then you should use cotton, tissue paper and latex. Professional teams use a combination of silicone prosthetics and latex prosthetics. However, if you are going for a DIY version, you should build up wounds using latex and either cotton or tissue paper.

Feather the latex and ensure it is not too thick. You can take that and glue it to your face. You can dry the layers with a hair dryer. That is the most straightforward and easiest way to get fake wounds.

The right skin tone

If you want to look great in your zombie costume, you should get the right skin tone. Always keep it muted and avoid using blue, red or green.
