There are so many fabulous ideas for movie costumes for Halloween, or any dress up event, hence you will never be short on ideas. You can draw inspiration from funny movies, scary movies, cult movies, classic movies and all the throwback movies that we all love so much. You can go for a well-known movie character from the big screen and you can go for a TV character from one of your favourite series. Movie character costumes are pretty easy to get hold of, there are dress up costume stores, retail and online, and you can also get creative and make a dress up movie costume.

If you take a look at costumes at retail and online stores, you are going to get loads of good ideas. Think about Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. This works for an adult or a child. Think of the Scarecrow from the same movie, although this might be a bit harder to design. What about Sandy from the movie Grease, or while we are on fabulous woman, what about Wonder Woman. You can go for a Superhero like Spiderman or Superman, and you could go for a super spy like James Bond 007. There are cartoon character for children and while I am a bit out of touch on kid’s favourite cartoons, they certainly are not. Involve your children when choosing a fancy dress costume for them; they know who they want to be and it is probably different from who you think.
Start planning your fancy dress costumes early and if you are not a DIY person then buy costumes and / or costume accessories online. Sometimes you just need a little make up, a wig, sunglasses and a few beads and you are good to go. Opting for movie costumes is always a safe as well as a good idea.
