Inviting friends to your 70s dress up party

Do you wish you’d been a hippy? The 70s outfits were the best fashion, so cool and groovy, and anyone who knows about that decade knows about the fashion and the style. Some of the most popular fashion icons come from the 70s. It was a decade that was ground breaking in that people started wearing clothing and listen to music that was not conservative. Teenagers broke away from their parent’s stricter ideas and rules. The word on the street was to be cool, to be groovy, and to dress accordingly. And that is what the 70s trends were. Bell bottom trousers, waistcoats with fringes, platform shoes, tiny mini dresses, lots of hair, big jewellery, peace signs, sunglasses and a great attitude. And that is why 70s costumes are so much fun.

70s theme outfits

You can buy 70s theme outfits from the stores that sell costumes online or you can make up your own costume if you still have 70s style clothing. We think the accessories are really important so make sure you have a colourful wig, some coloured or tinted sunglasses, and a few necklaces, hopefully a peace sign.  Wear a wild tee shirt if you have one, tie and dye, or a tee shirt with a fringed waistcoat over it. Jeans will be fine, but a flared pair would be preferable. And you definitely need a pair of high platform shoes or boots, whether you are a man or a woman. And if you are a woman, this is your opportunity to wear a tiny little mini skirt too.

Get groovy. Throw a groovy party. Put together your 70s playlist, serve punch and dance the night away. Start with the funky invitations and let everyone get their groove on. And start planning your own 70s outfits right away so that you are the star of the party.
